This beautiful piece features the beloved signature style bucket bilum styled as a “handbag” basket with natural eco-friendly handcrafted cane handles.

Handcrafted by the talented team of artisans in Papua New Guinea using traditional processes and weaving techniques. The basket is created completely by hand starting with processing local ‘rmungus’ tree bark into fibres, through to twisting the fibre strands into string and finally weaving the string into beautiful patterns. Each individual basket honours and celebrates the traditional techniques, knowledge and skill involved in Papua New Guinean bilum weaving.
