NUDIE JEANS CO. FOR FASHION REVOLUTION WEEK

What an amazing Autumn night and even more amazing week. A huge thank you to Nudie Jeans Co. for visiting BLAEK Store for Fashion Revolution Week and spreading their knowledge on sustainable fashion. Also a big thanks to those who came to learn about FRW and Nudie Jeans Co. Businesses and movements like these deserve our attention! It turns out we were one of the only places on the Northern Beaches to be holding such an event, so we are very proud of the turnout here in Manly.

BLAEK Store decided to host this event for 2 reasons:

1. To celebrate a sustainable and ethical business that has been getting it right since 2001. Nudie Jeans Co. gathered with us to share the inner-workings and outcomes of their RE-USE, RECYCLE and REPAIR systems for jeans. Nudie Jeans Co. is also certified organic cotton and fair trade, which ensures not only far less harm to our planet, but also an amazing and fair working environment. 
   
   
2. To celebrate Fashion Revolution Week prompted by the Rana Plaza factory collapse in 2013, the fourth largest industrial disaster in history. The tragic event took the lives of 1,138 people and injured another 2,500, but in response an ethical revolution in the fashion industry began.
